A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Chalee Hollowell has been many things in his life. Retail manager, School teacher, Insurance salesman, IRS collector, Entrepreneur, Handyman, featured Vocalist, and all around good guy. Now he's turned his talents and energy to songwriting .
When asked why his reply is simple and to the point. "I write the music I can't find. Most of what I hear nowadays doesn't strike a chord in me and sounds pretty much the same. Instead of complaining about it, I'm doing something about it. "
Working in his home-based recording studio, Chalee produces music in several genres from rock to gospel in what's now called "Old-School" style. His main instruments are the guitar, bass guitar, and some keyboards. Believing that there's music inside all of us, he lets a song flow out of him in it's simplest form. The results are what many call "demo grade" quality, but that doesn't bother him in the least.
"The music I write speaks for itself. I don't expect to get rich and famous doing this but I'm having so much fun I don't care", he says. "If just one song I write makes someone feel better, for whatever reason, then I'll be happy.For me that's what it's all about."
